- Earn a minimum monthly salary (varies by Emirate, typically AED 10,000+).
- Have a valid Ejari tenancy contract or homeownership proof.
- Hire a housemaid from an approved nationality (e.g., India, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh).
- Must be above 21 years of age
- Sponsoring Househelp is usually allowed for high-income professions such as – Doctor, Engineers, Senior Level Roles, etc

Restrictions to note: Bachelors are not permitted to have a maid. Additionally, certain nationalities are also banned and hence, sponsorship cannot be applied for them.
If you meet these requirements, AlNoor can assist in securing the Housemaid Visa for you quickly and efficiently.
Step-by-Step Process for Housemaid Visa Application
Step 1: Entry Permit Application
The first step is to submit your application to the GDFRA
Step 2: Maid’s Arrival & Medical Examination
If the maid is outside the UAE, she must enter using the entry permit. She will then undergo a medical fitness test and biometric registration for the Emirates ID.
Step 3: Emirates ID & Health Insurance Registration
Once the maid clears all the medical tests she shall be registered with an Emirates ID. Following which, the sponsor should get health insurance for her. As per UAE law, all domestic workers must have health insurance coverage before visa stamping.
Step 4: Labor Contract & Visa Stamping
A standardized labor contract must be signed by both parties, after which the residence visa is stamped in the maid’s passport.
Understanding the Guidelines and Obligations for Employing a Housemaid in the UAE
- It is essential for the sponsor to offer housing, meals, and medical care for the maid.
- UAE labor regulations require that a weekly day off is provided.
- The maid has the right to annual leave, medical leave, and benefits upon completion of service.
- Contracts are generally renewable every two years.
- Should the maid decide to leave before the contract concludes, proper cancellation procedures must be adhered to.
At AlNoor, we prioritize compliance with all legal requirements, ensuring you meet UAE labor laws effortlessly.
